The Selections Dialog Window

This window is used to create and manage selection sets. A selection set must
contain at least one rule used to highlight cell outlines but may contain many
such rules. Eventually, a selection set will be converted to a collection of
care area rectangles which are exported in GDSII format.

1] On/Off
If On, the rectangles for this selection set will be highlighted in the display.
If off, they will not be highlighted.
2] Selection Drop Down
Use this drop down to define which selection you are viewing/editing. If you
wish to create a new selection use the drop down item labeled: New Selection
3] Selection Name
The name of the current selection is shown here or if you are creating a new
selection type the name in here.
4] Number of Regions
A count of the number of regions belonging to this selection (before any care
area merging is performed)
5] Color
The color used to highlight this selection set. Clicking on this button will
open a color dialog enabling the user to set the selection’s color.
6] Add
press this button to add the highlight set to the selection.
7] Delete
press this button to delete the entire selection.
8] Delete/Move
Press this button to make this rule set the current one - generally followed by
the delete or move button.
9] On/Off
Press this button to display or not display this particular rule.

10] Single Ref
This button will be pressed if the rule was the result of a single reference
pick.
11] Cell
The name of the cell selected for this rule
12] Parent
If a parent was specified as a filter for the rule, its name will be present
here.
13] Nesting
If a nesting level or range of levels was specified as a filter they range will
be displayed here.
14] Array
If an array mode was specified as a filter for the rule, it will be specified
here.
15] Window
The window used as a filter for this rule, it will be specified here. Note that
even if the user did not specify a window, some range will be shown here, taken
from the top structure’s data extents.
16] Delete
To delete a rule, first select it and then press this button.
17] Move
If you wish to move a rule from one selection to another, first select the rule
and then use the drop down to pick the selection to move the rule to.
18] Redraw
To see the effects of adding a rule, deleting a rule, moving a rule or changing
the selection color on the display, you must press Redraw.
