Unsupported RS274D/RS274X Commands

Some Gerber and RS274X commands are rarely if ever used for microelectronic applications or were created to support machines that were built in extremely limited quantities. GBR2MIC will not support these commands:

  • Vape

  • Binary Extended Format

  • unconnected outlines

  • Line and Arc tapering

  • Parabolic and Cubic interpolation commands

  • draws with special apertures (squares and rounds are allowed)

  • references to external files

  • G62 programmable mirror

  • D00, D99 and M64 outline commands.

RS274X Exceptions

The following commands, if encountered, will be reported in the log file but will not be acted upon. The operator can then determine whether they are safe to ignore or whether some transformations should be made further down the process.

  • AP - aperture offset

  • AF - auto focus

  • AS - axis select

  • AR - aperture record

  • BD - block delete

  • DL - dash line

  • IF - include file

  • ID - input display

  • IJ - image justify

  • IC - input code

  • IO - image offset

  • KO - knock out

  • MI - mirror

  • LN - layer name

  • LS - load symbol

  • OF - offset

  • PE - perspective

  • PK - park

  • RC - rotate symbol

  • RO - rotation

  • SM - symbol mirror

  • SS - symbol scale

  • TR - translation

  • VL - velocity limit

  • WI - window specification

  • LN - Level Name

Additional Restrictions

  • Apertures may not be redefined within a 274X file.1

  • Apertures may not be redefined within a group of 274D files.

  • Only one 274X file may be loaded into GBR2MIC for processing.

  • Custom apertures not supported for RS274D

  • A maximum of 9990 apertures for RS274D

  • A maximum of 40000 apertures for RS274X1

  • A maximum of 65000 internal paint/scratch layer in RS274X file1

1 - the split274x program automatically detects these conditions and corrects them.
