ODB++ Steps

ODB++ Steps are "containers" which essentially describe a multi-layer object - a PCB, a panel outline, a test coupon or similar item. Within the step are various files. Most of these are not of interest in generating artwork except for the layer/feature files.

Stephdr

Exploded or SR

The STEP hdr can contain array information (i.e. step & repeat) for nested steps. This array information is read and used to array the RS274X data.

Layers

Draw/Flash/G36

The layers section contains the drawable "features" that are to be converted to RS274X. Each layer will produce an independent file in RS274X. Please go to the layer page to see the details within the layers section.

Attribute List

Ignored

The attrlist is ignored when creating RS274X output.

Profile

Generally Ignored

The Step profile (if it exists) is normally ignored as it is not considered part of the artwork for purposes of etching. The converter does include a function call to find the extents of the profile.

BOM

Ignored

The BOM data (if any) is ignored.

EDA

Ignored

The EDA data (if any) is ignored.

Checklist

Ignored

The Checklist data (if any) is ignored.

CDRSR

Ignored

The cdrsr data (for Orbotech AOI) is ignored.

REPS

Ignored

The REPS data (reports) is ignored.
