After installing a 64 bit Windows program such as Qckvu3 or ODB2GBR and attempting to run the program the user gets an error message:
"the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"
This occurs when the program is expecting certain Windows libraries that are not present in the operating system.
Solution
The solution is to install the Microsoft VC redistributable libraries. Artwork does not always include these by default in our install because in most cases they are already present in a Windows 7 operating system.
Procedure
Download the Redistribution Library
vcredist_x64_2008SP1.exe 64 bit 4.84 MB
Once downloaded, execute the vcredist_2008_x64.exe. You will need admistrative privledges to do this.
