Connect

This dialog appears upon start up or when the File | Preferences menu has been selected.

Specifying a QIS Server

You can specify a server either by its IP address or by the computer name. You must also specify the port that the server is running on.

Enable QIS Autolaunch

This option will start automatically a QIS process which will work with the QISC.

Remote

This option will allow the user to connect to a remote QIS. If the GDSII/OASIS files are on a UNIX platform, you should start QIS on the UNIX server and connect to it from the PC. This allows you to view from your PC a huge files which reside on a strong UNIX server.
