The Extract program is a legacy one and no longer offered. It has been replaced by Artwork's Qckvu3 viewer and the Extract plug-in. You will be redirected to the Extract plug-in page in 5 seconds. |
eXtract is used for viewing GDSII stream files and extracting a portion of that file into AutoCAD's DXF File format. It was developed intially for Ansoft as a way to get a part of a chip design into Ansoft's analysis and parasitic extraction tools. It has also found favor among IC package designers who need to extract pads, alignment marks and logos from chip mask data. |

eXtract is based on Artwork's GDSVU/W and XGDSVU (UNIX) viewers. The Extract module enables the user to use the cursor to define a crossing window. Upon executing eXtract any entity crossing the window is "extracted" from the GDSII file and converted into AutoCAD zero width closed polylines. The AutoCAD DXF file is flat -- no blocks. |
