Effect of Load Memory Option

The Load memory option will effect the speed of Qckvu3. The user can control this option and turn it on or off in the Open GDSII or OASIS menu.

Whether you want this option to be on or off depends on the nature of the file and user preference.
Here are some facts you should be aware off.

Load Memory ON

  • Qckvu3 will be slower during scan and load.
  • Qckvu3 will use more memory to load the file.
  • Qckvu3 will draw (zoom, pan) much faster, especially for gz files.

  • Qckvu3 will be faster during scan and load.
  • Qckvu3 will use less memory to load the file.
  • Qckvu3 will draw (zoom, pan) slower, especially for gz files.
