Wire Models and ParametersThe layout tool provides only the X,Y coordinates of the wire's beginning and ending point. The Z values for the beginning and end of the wire must come from stackup information (i.e. where the ends of the wire land). The actual profile is built on the fly using a wire model and parameters for that model. |

Four Point ModelThe user can choose between two simple wire models. The 4 point model assumes that the wire comes straight up from the die pad, moves 90 degrees toward the bond finger and then drops linearly to the height of the bond finger.This model is quite accurate for short wires. |
|||
Five Point ModelThe 5 point was developed for longer wires where a "worked" path is used. By using a slight upward angle before the straight section the wire forms an arch that droops less. |
Wire Models and ParametersFor designers that need more sophisticated wire profiles, Artwork has added the ability to build-your-own custom wire models. |
